Xiao Ming

Founder

Xiao Ming is the founder of M Badminton Academy and oversees the management of the academy's badminton program. He started his coaching journey 8 years ago with several important coaching roles under him such as head coach of the junior badminton program at SAFRA MT FABER and assistant instructor for the ActiveSG junior classes.

As a shuttler, he had also won various titles in local tournaments such as the Singapore national game and had participated in the Singapore University Games. With his strong foundation in the sport, he manages to develop lasting relationships with trainees whilst assisting them to achieve greater heights in the sport through a tested & proven training methodology.

Joseph

Co-founder

As the manager of the academy, Joseph oversees the planning of training schedules, and administrative processes. He hopes to leverage the passion students have for badminton, towards cultivating an enriching and enjoyable environment for them.

Eng Chin An

Operation manager

Chin An is the captain of the NUS badminton team and is awarded the university sports scholarship. He has represented Singapore to compete in the world university game as well as ASEAN university game. With his years of experience in the sport, he is able to provide meaningful suggestions at every stage of our operation, with a high level framework.

Made Citra

Technical director & Coach

Made Citra was an athlete under the Singapore national team from 2004-2019. His effective coaching methodology and friendly characteristic has been a great inspiration for many.

Made also assisted the academy in establishing the technical structure of the training program.

Zainul Hafiz

Senior coach (Malaysia Operation)

Hafiz was in the Penang state team and later joined Jaya Raya club in Jakarta. Represented Malaysia for various international series tournaments such as Japan open, Korea open etc.

Hafiz was also the head coach of Georgetown BC and BM Allstars BC during their contests in the Junior and Senior Purple League. With his professional knowledge, he is able to provide on-point advice for trainees of all levels to foster their growth and understanding of the sport.

Sean Lim

Coach

Sean is currently a student athlete in NTU. He represented the school and won 1st runner-up at the Singapore university game in 2019.

Sean had 3 years of coaching experience before joining the academy.

Timothy Phang

Coach

As a player, Timothy joined the national Intermediate squad, representing Singapore for international competitions.

 

The current captain of Raffles Institution badminton team had over a decade of experience as a player, clinching major titles such as Asean school games 2nd runner-up, national A division champion. He was also awarded the best sports boy of the year title by MOE.

Joel Lim

Coach

As the vice-president of SUTD badminton team for year 2018-2019, he is experienced with events management & operations. Formerly representing Hwa Chong institution at A division national level competition, he managed to clinch the top 8 position.

He is currently one of the main coach for our junior badminton program.

Zenn

Coach

Zenn is a highly experienced and well-regarded coach in Singapore. As a player, Zenn had represented SUTD in the Singapore university games and was also the president of the school team during his undergraduate years. Zenn had also won various titles at the national A division championship representing Anderson JC.

Joel Koh

Sponsored athlete/Assistant coach

As an athlete, Joel has participated in several local and international tournaments. He also managed to bag several titles such as champion of 2016 U17 Singapore Youth International Series and runner up of 2017 U19 Singapore International Series. He also managed to reach favourable positions such as quarterfinals in both 2017 Korea Junior and 2018 India Juniors.

With a substantial amount of experience and exposure gained whilst competing, he is able to provide better advice to aspiring competitive players.
